Introduction: 於民國七十四年先成立保險研究所；民國七十八年起又積極籌辦保險學系，於民國七十九年獲准正式設系，以培育保險專業人才與從事保險學術研究為宗旨，積極致力於教學與研究工作。博士班自民國九十三年開始招生，以培育風險管理與保險理論之學術研究人員及高等教育師資為宗旨。 The department of Risk Management and Insurance was established in 1985. The blueprint for developing the undergraduate program of the Department was created in 1989. Official establishment of the program was approved by the Ministry of Education in 1990, and the first class of freshmen were admitted in the same year. The Ph.D. program was established in 2003 and this program is the pioneer in Taiwan.
