於民國92年設立，本所為台灣各大專院校中第一個成立之台灣史研究所，目標以擴展台灣史相關學術領域之研究成果，並以訓練專業且優秀之台灣史研究、教學人才自期。本所將努力以台灣近現代之政治、經濟、社會、文化史為主，其中有關戰後台灣人權史方面的研究，亦將成為本所重點之發展方向。 Graduate Institute of Taiwan History Established in 2004, according to the Official Letter of Ministry of Education. The enrollment of master students started from 2004. The enrollment of Ph.d. students started from 2007.
