The main subjects of this study are the national and cultural characteristics of Russian language acquisition among university students in Taiwan. The origin of this research is driven by the insufficient study on this contingent of students in the Russian language didactics and by the common issues of integrating culturology in teaching Russian as a foreign language. This project aims to study the features of the perception of Russian culture by the Taiwan students, and to reveal such obligatory and precedent works of Russian vocal music as valuable teaching materials. It wouldn』t cause conflict to the original culture of the learners; on the contrary, it would break the psychological barrier between different cultures and enable students to gain deeper understanding of lifestyle, thoughts and feelings of the Russian native speakers, and about the history of Russia. This, in turn, could enhance not only the communication processes in both the societal and professional spheres, but easier adaptation to the real Russian language milieu for future specialists. The results of this research will be important in developing the methodologies of gradual introduction of the cultural materials to different stages of Russian language teaching in Taiwan』s universities, as well as for solving the problems concerning lack of internal motivation among Russian language students in Taiwan.
