Abstract: Digital business ecosystems (DBEs) are collaborative online environments that include suppliers, consumers, and digital partners. However, few studies have investigated the smartphone-based DBE mobility characteristics that can differentiate and integrate values in digital platform-based approaches. This paper investigates the impacts of lifestyle-based mobility on experiential fit, identification, co-creation rewards, and citizenship behavior based on the theory of mobility. Data from 1,090 respondents were analyzed with AMOS, SPSS version 22, and Fuzzy-set Qualitative Comparative Analysis. The smartphone-based DBE approach supports the dynamics of individual value mobility to capture users’ identification, co-creation rewards, and ecosystem citizenship values. Statistical analysis showed how smartphone-based DBE mobility may deliver experiential fit for its users to trigger identification with smartphone-based DBEs, attainment of co-creation rewards, and spreading of citizenship behaviors. This study contributes to the smartphone-based DBE literature by adding new insights into how value creation can be enriched by understanding platform mobilities and user citizenship behaviors.
