    Abstract: 本計畫預期在學術意義上預期可作出兩方面的貢獻。首先，本計畫在學術意義上具有延續性。本計畫由之前的計畫延伸而來，結合既有戒嚴前期的研究成果，當可建構戒嚴時期完整的對外文化管制歷史，以及面對自由化呼聲時政府的因應作為。過往對臺灣文化政策或文化風景的討論，多從官方的對內統治著手，較少涉及對外來文化的處置，本計畫將可完備過去學界較忽視的層面。其次，本計畫在學術意義和國家發展上具有開拓與發展性。外來文化不僅出版品，尚有電影、錄影帶及唱片等影音媒體，政府的管制體系及進口政策因媒體性質也有所不同，本計畫完成後將可結合其他媒體的研究成果，對整體外來文化的進口樣貌有較全面的理解。
