During the White Terror era, overseas democratic movement can have the impetus to the democratization of Taiwan since the Taiwan domestic anti-KMT expression and movement has was suppressed by KMT authoritarian regime. Chronologically, the overseas democratic movement in Japan launched from 1950’s. Until 1970’s it was transported from Japan to all around the world, especially North America . Many previous researches on the opposition movement of Taiwan during the White Terror era exist. However, these previous studies focused on right-wing group and its political ideas and little analysis has been conducted on Taiwanese left-wing independence activist, like Su Beng.In the recent past, the library of NCCU has drawn attention to another Taiwanese left-wing independence activist, Tso Hsiung who started several publications from 1970’s and his remarks have an influence on overseas Taiwanese of left-wing group. The purpose of this study is to establish a relatively complete the life and works of Tso Hsiung through deeply reading Taiwan Sitai Series Magazine, under the leadership of Tso Hsiung, which also affected the development of overseas future democratic movement.
