This study explored elementary school teachers’ perception of organizational politics and impression management motives on their organizational citizenship behaviors. A total of 1,026 teachers from 116 public elementary schools across Taiwan were surveyed using questionnaires. The data were analyzed using hierarchical linear models for validating the theoretical model. Based on the results, the following conclusions were reached: 1. Teachers possess a lower-middle level perception of organizational politics and an upper-middle level perception of impression management motives and organizational citizenship behaviors. 2. Teachers’ perception of organizational politics has a negative effect on their organizational citizenship behaviors, especially on sportsmanship. 3. Teachers’ perception of organizational politics has a positive effect on their motive for avoiding a negative impression. 4. Teachers’ impression management motives positively affect their organizational citizenship behaviors. 5. Teachers’ perception of organizational politics, mediated by their motive for developing a positive impression, has an indirect but positive effect on “altruism” and “courtesy”. Finally, suggestions were offered to school administrators and teachers and for future studies.
