| Abstract: | Along with the development of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, fintech plays an inevitable role in modern financial-related activities. Fintech has really helped solve the difficult problem of geographical distance as well as supporting people in rural areas who do not have the opportunity to go directly to financial companies. Appeared in Vietnam in 2005 but not until 2015 that fintech started its early growth stage, but mainly in the payment segment. Until the outbreak of COVID-19, because of regulations on social distancing, people increasingly preferred to use fintech not only for payment but also in other segments. With the significantly increasing numbers of fintech users and fintech companies, Vietnam is being evaluated as one of the fastest growing fintech countries and one of the tops in Southeast Asia. Research results show that the investment, remittance, lending and insurance segments will thrive in the post-COVID era. However, in conjunction with development opportunities, fintech in Vietnam still faces many difficulties and challenges. Therefore, it is necessary to have synchronous coordination between the government and fintech companies to enhance the infrastructure of telecommunications networks as well as implement comprehensive regulations to protect the interests of fintech users. Furthermore, fintech companies should leverage the advantage of technology to create a fintech ecosystem that provides personalized fintech products to enhance user experience toward innovation and breakthroughs. |
