    Abstract: 老子之哲學,由觀察宇宙,體驗人事,而闡發「相對論」。其對宇宙之觀察不重在大地河山物質之表面,而認為物質之形態出現,具體顯然可睹,其所以如此,必有潛在之力量,——即生命,亦即本體。本體無形無象,不可捉摩,然不可謂空無所有,此即所謂形而上學。中國最古之典籍講形而上學者,易經而外,則為老子,故吾師熊十力先生謂「老子之學,源出於易」,又謂「老莊為易之別派」(十力語要),蓋老子明乾道變化之理,體人生自然之義,如「易」學之通乎天地,窮神知化(繫辭),同其要妙,豈止如班固所謂「合於堯之克讓,易之嗛嗛(謙)」者乎(藝文志)!
