    Abstract: 中國在2005 年中宣布要送給臺灣一對大熊貓,使得臺灣掀起一股大熊貓熱,相關報導一再出現在報章媒體上,包含牠在中國的歷史名稱演變過程。雖然中國近年來對大熊貓古代名稱的研究,幾乎已經形成一套完整的論述並且廣為流傳引用,然而,這份研究成果的內容卻是充滿謬誤與迷思。本文的探討重點即是集中在兩方面,一方面是探討中國大熊貓古代名稱在研究和考據的過程,是如何通過人為的建構與接合的方式形塑完成,並指出建構與接合背後的種種謬誤和迷思;另一方面則是通過布爾迪厄(P. Bourdieu)的「文化再生產」論述來探討這個充滿建構與接合的研究成果,何以仍然受到普遍引用的可能原因。
