    Abstract: 本論文以杜玲英譯的《家變》Family Catastrophe 為例,闡釋王文興的中文原著如何經過文化翻譯形成一部褪色的「現代主義」譯本。論文旨在析論英譯本如何透過「歸化」策略,形成一種嶄新的「建構體」。此外,論文將闡明英譯本如何展現「差異性重複」,形成一個「看似神似卻不盡相同」的相異主體與「番易」文本。
    This paper aims to probe into how Wang Wen-hsing’s Family Catastrophe, a classic modernist novel in Taiwan, becomes a work of faded-out modernism in English translation. Besides, it seeks to explore how the English translator adopts the translation strategy of domestication, instead of foreignization, to reconstruct a “translation-and-transformation” copy, a “repetition in difference,” which is “almost the same, but not quite.”
