    Abstract: 在當前生命倫理學的討論中,不論是在生命醫學中涉及到關於「生命從何時開始?」與「生命到何時結束?」之墮胎、胚胎篩檢、腦死與安樂死等等的道德爭議;或者在動物與環境保護的議題上,我們都必須面對生命意義的終極關懷或人在宇宙中的定位問題。當前生命倫理學的道德爭議,使得我們有必要在政治自由主義的正義原則或政教分離的憲法寬容原則之外,重新審視宗教與形上學思考在探討生命終極關懷時所具有的實踐意義。本文將透過郭爾堡的道德發展理論與尤納斯的存有論倫理學,來說明宗教與形上學的思考在當代所能具有的實踐意義,在於他們能透過生命的終極關懷來擴大道德社群的包容範圍,進而為保護人類與自然永續存在的道德義務奠定理性的基礎。
    Challenging a long-standing assumption of the separation of religious ultimate concern of life from political justice in modern society, this paper presents the new practical meaning of religious-metaphysical thinking in contemporary bioethics. The Arguments of Kohlberg`s theory of moral development and Jonas` ontological ethics are analyzed in terms of their key concepts. In the light of this, the religious ultimate concern of life as basis of moral duty to protection of human being and nature is here to be justified
