    描述: 南韓史上首次高峰會是在2000年金大中總統任內促成的，當時北韓元首仍是國防委員會委員長金正日，金大中還為此獲得了諾貝爾和平獎。南韓總統盧武鉉與金大中一樣，標榜對北韓和解政策，原訂八月底召開的高峰會，由於北韓水災，不得已延期至10月2日召開，是歷史上第二次南北韓領導人高峰會，高峰會的共識之一，是今後的高峰會「隨時可視需要」召開。
