    Abstract: 西王母從原始古老神話半人半獸的神祇演變到美麗尊貴的道教女仙首領的發展,漢代西王母神話與信仰的發展無疑是一重要的關鍵.而漢代畫像石的出土,對於漢代西王母神話與信仰的研究尤具有重要的價值與意義.在山東地區出土之漢畫西王母圖像中,有「人首烏身」之神靈動物,配置於位居正中的西王母之旁側,有時亦出現在東王公身邊.漢畫像中位於西王母身邊以手持針砭、人首烏身形象出現的神異動物,與歷史人物神醫「扁鵲」間具有何種關係?何以進入西王母之仙境圍中?與西王母圖像間又形成何種敘事關係?披露哪些漢人的歷史想像與宗教情懷?此為探究西王母圖像志與神祇形象發展的重要課題,實有進一步探究與釐清之必要本文結合文本詮釋及圖像學研究方法,以山東嘉祥縣、微山縣漢畫像石中「鳥形扁鵲圍」為研究對象,以見西王母與鳥形扁鵲的配置關係,探尋其圖像志之意義,以及西王母神祇功能區域性之發展與變化.
    Xi Wang Mu, known as the “Western Mother” or “The Queen’sMother of The West”, refers to an archaic divinity residing in the west.When she evolved from the therianthropic creature of the ancient myth intoa beautiful and noble goddess of the Taoist immortal leader, thedevelopment of the archeology of the Han Dynasty stone carvings about XiWang Mu provided a significant and valuable resource to research themyths and beliefs of the Han Dynasty.In the images excavated in Shangdong area, a deity with the body of abird and a human head was located just beside Xi Wang Mu who was at thecentre of the image or sometimes the deity was positioned beside DongWang Gong (Emperor of The East) . The main purposes of this article are:What is the relationship between the deity with the body of a bird and ahuman head carrying a needle residing beside Xi Wang Mu in the Han stonesculptures and the historical legendary of Chinese Physician Bian Que?Why it enters into the chart of Xi Wang Mu fairyland?The article applies the methods of text interpretation and iconographyin using Weishan Han stone carving of the “bird-shaped Bian Que” atJiaxiang County of Shandong as the object of study, to investigate thearrangement of positions between Xi Wang Mu and bird-shaped Bian Que.This article will show the meaning of the image as well as the regionaldevelopment and changes of the divinity of Xi Wang Mu.
