The purpose of this study is to use sexual strategies theory to elaborate the theoretical links among gender, perceived effects on self and others, and attitudes supporting restriction of pornography. From data gathered in a survey of 1858 Taiwan high school students, this study revealed that female respondents perceived greater negative effects of pornography on self and others than did male respondents. Findings also supported the hypotheses that gender and perceived negative effects on self and others all are related to an attitude that favors control of pornography.
