Taiwan, like many aging societies, faces a growing need to reimagine the role of older adults as active contributors to community life. This study explores how adults aged 55 and above in Taipei and New Taipei City can participate in the sharing economy through peer-to-peer knowledge and skill exchange. The research was motivated by an exploratory interview with a government official overseeing an intergenerational co-living initiative, which informed the design of a structured survey. Findings from 112 older adults reveal that emotional drivers like self-fulfillment and social connection encourage participation, while concerns about safety, technology, and unfamiliarity remain significant barriers. In response, the study proposes ShaWise (智享站), a business model for a sharing economy platform designed to foster meaningful engagement among older adults. Guided by the Value Proposition Canvas and Sustainable Business Model Canvas, the platform features a phased rollout that addresses trust-building, digital onboarding, and activity design. This study offers practical insights for inclusive platform design and innovation in aging societies.
