| Abstract: | 近年來，來臺就學僑生逐年增加，其中選擇就讀華語文教學系的緬甸僑生也呈現上升趨勢。這些僑生絕大多數畢業於緬甸的僑校，然此增長仍難以有效補足緬甸僑校師資短缺的問題。本研究透過深入訪談的方式，探討緬甸僑生就讀華語文教學系所的學習歷程、選系動機及未來職業選擇的考量及規劃等議題。研究結果發現，緬甸僑生在選擇科系與未來職業時，受到多個內在與外在的因素影響。由於緬甸華校與臺灣的教育制度有差異，加上其他知識背景的落差，導致來臺後需經歷跨文化適應的挑戰、學習壓力與人際挑戰。在面對跨文化適應挑戰的同時，仍需解決個人的基本需求，在這種現實壓力下進一步影響了對華語教學工作的選擇。儘管部分受訪者有意投入華語教學領域，但實際的未來職業選擇仍受到身份、經濟壓力的影響。
In recent years, the number of overseas Chinese coming to Taiwan for education has been steadily increasing. Among them, Burmese overseas Chinese, graduated from Chinese schools, choosing to study Mandarin Teaching have also shown an upward trend. However, this growth remains insufficient to effectively address the shortage of qualified teachers in Burmese Chinese schools. This study explores the learning experiences, motivations for choosing their majors, and considerations for professional trajectories, etc., among Burmese students enrolled in Mandarin Teaching programs, using in-depth interviews. The findings reveal that various internal and external factors influence these students' academic and career decisions. Due to differences between the education systems in Myanmar and Taiwan, as well as gaps in prior knowledge, students often face challenges in cross-cultural adaptation, academic pressure, and interpersonal relationships after arriving in Taiwan. While adapting to a new culture, they must also address their basic needs, and such practical pressures further affect their willingness to pursue careers in Mandarin Teaching. Although some interviewees expressed interest in entering the field of Mandarin teaching, their actual career choices are often constrained by their identities and financial pressures. |
