In recent years, growing attention to employees’ overall health and well-being has positioned total worker health(TWH)as a critical focus in organizational health management. However, in Taiwanese workplaces, there is still a relative lack of measurement tools corresponding to this concept. This study examines the psychometric evaluation of the Chinese version of the Total Worker Health Climate Scale. Adapting the scale developed by Huang et al.(2023), this study used Brislin’s (1980) back-translation method and incorporated expert review and focus group input for localization. Data were collected from employees in Taiwan’s insurance industry, obtaining a total of 159 valid samples. As the initial confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) showed suboptimal model fit, a revised five-factor model was proposed. The final model demonstrated acceptable fit indices and good internal consistency. Except for the “Hygiene and Recovery” subfactor, which was not significantly associated with physical health outcomes, all other factors showed correlations with safety outcomes, physical health, exhaustion, life satisfaction, job satisfaction, and work effort, supporting the criterion-related validity of the scale. This study suggests that this TWH Climate Scale can serve as a practical diagnostic tool for organizations seeking to evaluate and enhance workplace health climate. Organizations are encouraged to develop safety education activities, health resource allocation, employee assistance programs (EAP), and the development of a positive organizational culture to strengthen employee well-being and overall organizational performance. |
