摘要: | In recent decade, Turkey has been the top European country for Taiwanese outbound tourist. This sudden popularity could be due to the vast amount of attraction resources Turkey own. Ranging from anthropology studies to sea-related recreations, traveling to Turkey seems as an alternative choice to travel to Europe. In this study, 1013 Taiwanese university students were surveyed to measure their perceived image of Turkey in general. University students were selected as the targeted group, since they are at the stage of education and exposure to international affairs that would develop their ideals and beliefs of different countries. These students although take about 14% of Taiwan's outbound tourist, they do have the potential to become future clients, thus it is necessary to measure their perceived image so stakeholders could have the necessary time to improve the overall image. Findings revealed that most of the respondents would travel to Turkey for relaxation and sightseeing , with their main concern as personal safety, food, and hygiene. However, the perceived image of Turkey showed that although these three main concerns are slightly positive, it did not surpass the respondent's standard. Instead, cultural events and historical sites are rated the highest for Turkey's perceived image. This outcome may suggest that Turkey although have a variety of attractions, to most of the Taiwanese university students it would take more than two years to plan a trip to Turkey. |
