Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), a concept that integrates sustainable development with business operations, has become a key topic in the discourse of global business development and trade discussions. Business Chinese teaching and learning which emphasizes specialized language skill, are closely related to global business activities and trending issues. This study aims to understand the learning needs and content preferences regarding CSR among learners of Business Chinese, in order to assess the feasibility of integrating this topic into the Business Chinese curriculum and materials. The research employed questionnaire surveys and semi-structured interviews in three settings: Chinese language centers in northern Taiwan, Facebook groups, and multinational corporations. The study engaged three target groups: foreign business professionals, students in foreign business management programs, and foreign individuals interested in learning about this CSR, with a total of 116 valid responses collected. In addition, 10 participants volunteered for semi-structured interviews to further probe their specific learning needs and content preferences regarding CSR in Business Chinese. The results indicate a high level of interest and demand among foreign learners for Business Chinese content focusing on CSR. Desired learning content includes proficiency in Chinese language usage in CSR contexts, cross-cultural knowledge related to CSR, and introductions to CSR practices in Taiwan-based companies. Based on the findings from the survey and interviews, this paper proposes recommendations for the design of 'Theme-based Business Chinese Learning Needs Assessment' and provides teaching suggestions.
