Abstract: | 本研究旨在透過語彙資料分析法,以開放性問卷、蒐集並分析大學生所陳述的觀點,探究他們對「通識」的體認與定義,以及對實際開課科目中懸缺課程的觀察。研究發現在大學生觀點中的通識:一、是「主修專業之外」的內容;二、是「各領域入門」;三、是為培養「基本常識」與「社會生活應備能力」;四、是為「興趣探索」;五、是為培養「大學生應備能力」;六、應提供「思考與學習方法」;七、能陶冶「人格情意」。其次,大學生指出通識教育中的懸缺課程主要是:一、具應用操作與實務體驗性質的科目;二、增加生存基本知能的科目;三、提高生活品味的科目;四、能認識非主流與弱勢的科目。最後,針對研究大學生觀點、提高大學生通識課程意識、建立全國各校通識開課科目資料庫、奠定懸缺課程研究基礎,以及鍛鍊語彙資料分析法等部分,提出延伸可能性。 General education (GE) has been of great significance in the higher education reformations. However, in recent years GE reformations had inclined to focus on its institutionalization and instructional evaluation rather than its curriculum content. Besides, even the student-centered concept has been constantly promoted, there were still rare chances for students to voice in university. Under such circumstances, this study aimed to examine GE curriculum especially through the perspective of the null curriculum and the university students. The study conducted a survey on seniors’ viewpoints on the GE definition and what is important but missing in GE curriculum. The language speaking of their perspectives about GE and the null curriculum in GE were collected. 716 among 754 questionnaires were valid (the sampling error is approximately 3.14%). The results indicate that in the viewpoint of the university student: 1. The definition of general education: for the majority, it tends to be outside the discipline, the introduction of each discipline, basic common sense, the social life-oriented, the thinking and learning methods as well as the personality cultivation. 2. The “important but missed” content in general education: For the majority, it tends to be the chance of performing and experiencing in person (e.g., cooking, design), the basic surviving skills, the life taste enhancement as well as the understanding of the minorities within the nonmainstream. According to the results, the study implies some discussions and suggestions for the GE curriculum, the methodology of language analysis, and the basis for long-term researches on GE curriculum. |
