Abstract: Rugby fifteens is a sport that sets high-standard physical requirements for players. A personal and positional programme should be designed according to the needs and the movement pattern during a match. Based on the real game needs, those physical requirements are therefore developed and enhanced. Training details including training order and how monitoring works should also be emphasized. In this case study, those training concepts and models based on evidence like undulating periodization model and the acute: chronic workload ratio (ACWR) were applied to practice. The results demonstrated obvious improvements in each physical capability, and therefore this programming structure could be a practical way for coaches to improve the players performances.
