This study adopts a case study methodology supplemented by in-depth interviews, focusing on Company A, a server brand, to understand its strategic alliances in the Japanese market. The research aims to explore the reasons, benefits, risks, and future prospects of this strategic alliance, highlighting the relatively uncommon cooperation between brand companies. Initially, Five Forces Analysis is used to examine the server industry environment in Japan and to understand the disadvantages faced by foreign entrants in the Japanese server market. This analysis helps explain the reasons for forming strategic alliances and the benefits they bring to both parties.

Through this in-depth study, it is found that in the face of liability of foreignness, foreign companies can successfully expand their revenue and market share and overcome these disadvantages by adopting international entry strategies through strategic alliances with local Japanese companies. This strategic alliance, due to high switching costs, ensures that both parties are not easily replaced. Additionally, it is expected that this approach will remain feasible as the Japanese server market continues to grow.
