Abstract:	台灣國家漫畫博物館成立在即，但台灣對漫畫與漫畫史研究仍有不足，對漫畫作為一種文化並沒有深刻的理解。然而，無論是博物館或是漫畫文化的創造，都需要有紮根的研究基礎，並充分理解漫畫的特色，將漫畫與其他繪物區辨開來，始能開展對漫畫的任何行動，例如：史料的保存與解讀、策展的主題、設立博物館的目的與意義等。期許能透過本研究，一方面釐清租書店與漫畫的文化史，以及台灣大眾閱讀物的變化，現今台灣正致力於文化創意的發展，更必須要回到文化積累的脈絡中，汲取文化發展的歷史知識與能量，因此，也期望透過本研究與這項展覽的實行，能讓台灣各世代的人能從展覽中更接近台灣庶民的、文化史的脈絡。
