Blockchain technology has gained significant attention as a potential enabler of digital transformation and has been extensively investigated. However, the considerations for adopting and deploying secure data sharing and access across multiple entities remain to be scrutinized. This research explores the critical factors of blockchain-enabled digital transformation in industries, focusing on four key factors: data quality, process optimization, stakeholder benefits, and value expectation.
The study employs multiple case-study approaches to investigate blockchain deployment in various industries, including accounting, insurance, healthcare, and the supply chain. The research findings demonstrate that achieving blockchain-enabled digital transformation hinges on various critical factors. Firstly, the accuracy and transparency of information exchange among stakeholders are vital, and data plays a pivotal role in ensuring this outcome. Secondly, automating processes via smart contracts and decentralized applications can heighten efficiency and lead to cost reductions. Thirdly, stakeholder collaboration and participation are fundamental to ensure the widespread adoption and implementation of blockchain solutions. Finally, creating value through blockchain-enabled digital transformation can have a positive impact on business models. By considering the essential factors for digital transformation via blockchain technology, industry participants can attain mutual benefits and establish complementary collaborations, as evidenced by the findings in this paper`s conclusion. |
