Recently, the concept of “patient-centered” has gradually been included in the evaluation of medical organization, which induces many medical institutions to introduce Healthcare Information Systems (HIS). This study aims to explore the acceptance of HIS among different users’ backgrounds and personalities. A teaching hospital in this study introduced a new arranging system for colonoscopy in 2019. This system served as the role of Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) include in HIS.
This study found that this new system can reduce the waiting time of patients, and higher acceptance of the system was discovered in the senior doctors, internists, and users holding more positive views of the system. All quality indicators can reach the standard, and there is no significant difference before and after the introduction of the new system. This study’s results can be used as a reference for future introduction of HIS in medical institutions, and enable the managers to understand the characteristics of users who may have a higher acceptance of the new system, and design a suitable reward system for these users.
