    摘要: 本文從MARC演變過程經驗、資料特性、使用者需求、和資料整合等方面，來分析都柏林核心集在未來圖書館中所扮演的角色。分析的結論為圖書館界可以在一般性資料上，應用都柏林核心集來做為其資料記載的格式，來一統三種主要的資料來源─書目資料、網頁、和 (期刊文獻的) 資料庫資料。如此一來，既有資料整合的經濟效益和便利，又可以避免資料格式過分龐雜的害處。
    In this paper, we analyze the roles of the Dublin Code (DC) in librarγ communities from various aspects, such as the experiences from the use of MARC, the user`s needs, and the benefits of data integration. The conclusion is that we shall ONLY apply the DC to ”the generic data,” which include bibliographies, web pages, and journal databases. In this way, we can integrate all existing data without establishing a complicated system for various data formats.
