On December 26, 2016, the Judicial Legal Committee of the Taiwan Legislative Yuan passed the preliminary examination of the provisions of the Marriage Equal Rights Act, marking a further step toward the legalization of homosexual marriage in Taiwan. In many countries in Europe and America, the legality of same-sex marriage has gradually been recognized. However, in Asia, many people still have prejudice and misunderstanding about the “homosexual” group, and cannot treat and treat them in a fair and equal way. Therefore, Taiwan, as the forerunner of the legalization of same-sex marriage in Asia, has strong learning and research value for other parts of Asia. In the academic world, most of the previous studies on same-sex marriage were based on gender, religious belief and education level. They analyzed their attitudes and influence mechanisms on same-sex marriage. They did not directly start from sexual attitudes and studied their same-sex marriage. The relevance of acceptance.

In this context, the study selected Mainland students and Taiwanese students as observation targets. Due to differences in social systems, same-sex marriage has not yet entered the mainstream public opinion discussion in mainland China. Since Taiwan opened its land in 2011, a large numbers of Mainland students came to Taiwan. After accepting the baptism of multiculturalism, after thinking about social issues including same-sex marriage, some different viewpoints were derived. Therefore, the study believes that through the observation of these two groups, we can intuitively reveal the impact of differences in sexual attitudes on the acceptance of same-sex marriage. The study used the online questionnaire method to obtain 1813 valid samples. The study found:

    1. The attitudes between Mainland students and Taiwanese students are different; 2. The acceptance of same-sex marriage between Mainland students and Taiwanese students is different; 3. Sexual attitude has positive influence on the acceptance of same-sex marriage; 4. Sexual attitude in gender, religious belief and single-parent family to same-sex marriage There is no mediating effect in the influence of acceptance; 5. Gender has a regulating effect on the influence of sexual attitudes on same-sex marriage acceptance; 6. Religious beliefs and single-parent families have no adjustment effect on the influence of sexual attitudes on same-sex marriage acceptance. 7. There are homosexuals among relatives and friends who support the same-sex marriage. This study hopes to provide more support and help for homosexuality, a socially disadvantaged group, to fight for equal rights.
