The scalability problem becomes the major bottleneck of RSVP (ReSerVation Protocol) and Integrated Service Model. In this paper, we propose Scalable Traffic Control (STC) architecture to attack this problem. In STC, Aggregation of RSVP control messages can reduce the processing overhead in the core router. A Tag Class Fair Queue scheme is developed for packet scheduling. The complexity of this algorithm is in proportional to the number of class, instead of the number of the flow number. Therefore, the proposed STC architecture provides a solution to the scalability of RSVP.
