    Abstract: 本論文提出一個可應用IEEE 802.11無線網路之二階層式的負載平衡方法。為了達到動態負載平衡(Dynamic Load Balancing)的狀態,當某一基地台(Access Point)發生負載過重時會主動通知其周圍相鄰(第二層)區域的基地台,此時第二層區域的基地台會從拓樸(Topology)位置關係表中檢視各個工作站(Work Station)相關的流量輸出(Throughput)及訊號強度(Received Signal Strength Indicator)等資訊,從中挑選出位於第一層、第二層涵蓋範圍中且較適合的工作站,並重新計算負載平衡指數(Load Balance Index) β’,回報給原負載過重的基地台。原負載過重的基地台從所有回報之負載平衡指數β’中,選出較適合的負載平衡指數β’。依據新的負載平衡指數β’,將這些相鄰工作站,從原負載過重的基地台換手(Handoff)至負載較輕的相鄰基地台,來達到網路動態負載平衡的目的。模擬結果顯示我們的方法比無負載平衡的環境下,負載平衡指數β’值可以提高3.97%至13.3%,而流量輸出更可提高12.41%至34.2%。模擬結果顯示我們所提出的方法能顯著地提升整體網路的運作效率。
