    Abstract: 一九六八年,川端康成獲得諾貝爾文學獎,在頒獎典禮的演講──「美麗的日本與我‧序」中,以道元禪師的「春花秋月杜鵑夏,冬雪皚皚寒意加」、明惠上人的「冬月隨雲伴我身,寒風徹骨雪亦冷」有名和歌為例,指出這些和歌表現出日本人的內心。又舉出與小說《雪國》同樣場景(越後,今新潟縣)的僧人良寬的和歌「欲做遺物留存者,春花杜鵑秋紅葉」,在這個詩僧臨終時的眼中,也映照出雪國的自然之美。反覆引用「雪國」這個詞彙,乃是其代表作之一即為《雪國》,而「臨終之眼」一詞則是從芥川龍之介的話語引用而來的。《雪國》固然是透過車窗描寫冬天的美麗黃昏,而芥川龍之介的《橘子》也是以冬天的黃昏為背景,因此與《雪國》有關連性。在美國講授《橘子》時,美國學生基於對基督教的理解認為:是因為神的恩寵才得到橘子的。這是日本文學與異文化交會時,透過新的解讀認知,產生新魅力的其中一例。芥川在晚年作品多描寫耶穌、基督教,並將聖經放在胸前自殺,我認為,亦是對基督教有其共鳴之處。
