The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of self-concept, proactive coping, and depressive mood on the self-identity of college juniors. A sample of 25,012 students was used from Taiwan higher education database. The results showed that: (1) Self-concept had direct effect on proactive coping and depressive mood. (2) Proactive coping and depressive mood played a mediated role between self-concept and self-identity. (3) Proactive coping influenced depressive mood and self-identity, respectively, and it also had indirect effect on self-identity through depressive mood. (4) Depressive mood had negatively direct effect on self-identity. (5) The structural relationship among independent and dependent variables were empirically identified for the proposed model by SEM. Finally, based on the findings, the present study offered some suggestions.
