    摘要: 閱讀是人類在當代知識經濟社會裡重要的學習方式,而公共圖書館是社區民眾閱讀的基本機構,與民眾的閱讀生活密不可分,公共圖書館應負起引導民眾閱讀,營造書香社會的任務。若欲達成此要務,則有賴於具專業素養的公共圖書館館員舉辦優質的閱讀推廣活動。而館員除了需具備辦理閱讀推廣活動的相關專業知能與正確的服務理念之外,其在活動中所扮演的角色與定位為何亦值得吾人關注。
    Reading is one of the important ways of learning in knowledge-economic era. Public libraries, the basal organizations of reading for community people, are essential to people’s reading life. Public libraries should take the responsibility to encourage people to read and aim to create a learning society. To achieve this, it depends on public librarians’ abilities to establish high-quality and effective reading programs. In this article, the roles of the public librarians in promoting reading activities are worthy to be examined.
