    Title:
    Authors:
Keywords:
    Date: 1995-09
    Issue Date: 2016-06-04 14:10:38 (UTC+8)
Past research on Lee`s six love styles tend to focus on correlation between scores on each subscales and different variables such as self-esteem, sex attitude, relation satisfaction, gender, etc. The correlation betweem subscale scores and jealousy, and betweem different love style paira and relation satisfaction, however, have not been investigated, and are the focuses of the present study. Subjects were 126 pairs of 18-35 years old who lave been dating each other for more than half-year. They were interviewed by love attitude scale, interpersonal jealousy scale, jealousy coping scale, and relationship assessment scale. The results show that (1) the higher the eros, storge, or agape score, the higher the relation satisfaction score, and the less often indirect jealousy coping strategies are used, but the higher the ludus or mania score, the lower the relation satisfaction score, and the more often indirect jealousy coping strategies are used; (2) the higher the eros, ludus, or mania score, the higher the jealousy score, but the higher the storage or agape score, the lower the relation satisfaction score; (3) the higher the eros or agape score, the more often the direct coping stragies are used, but the higher the ludus score, the less often the direct coping strategies are used; (4) partners with similar love style have higher relation satisfaction than partners with different love style; (5) for male subjects, the higher the jealousy score, the lower the relation satisfation score; (6) these subjects who often use indirect but not direct coping strategies have lowest relation satisfaction score than all other groups of subjects, and (7) males have higher relation satisfaction in "both low" jealousy pairs than in "both high" jealousy pairs. The possible reasons and implications of the above findings are discussed in the paper.
