    Title: 報紙消息來源人物之背景與被處理方式之分析

    本研究探討的問題有三:(一)報紙消息來源人物的背景有何特性?
    已消息來源人物的背景,與他們出現在報紙上的新聞性質,是否具有
    關聯性?(三)消息來源人物的背景,與他們在報紙上被處理的方式,是
    否有差異?此三個問題並以民國66年和民國76年做為比較。
    本研究以內容分析法,在民國66年和76年的中國時報和中央日報
    中,隨機抽樣了56天(各28天)的報紙內容,進行分析,研究結果如
    下:
    一、消息來源人物背景
    報紙引用的消息來源,是一群以男性為主,職業為政府官員和民意代表,並且擔任單位主管的人。就十年前後的比較可發現,民意代表、社會工作者和學者專家被報紙引用的次數愈來愈多。
    二、消息來源人物背景和新聞性質
    消息來源人物背景(除職級外) ,和新聞性質有顯著關聯。男性、政府官員和民意代表,正式組織的個人,較常出現在政經新聞中,而女性、一般民眾和社會工作者、非正式組織的個人,則較常成為社會新聞及文教新聞的消息來源。這種偏向,十年後的變化並不大。
    三、消息來源人物背景和其被處理方式
    本研究以「記者處理顯著程度」和「編輯處理顯著程度」等兩個向度加以分析,並進行共變分析(analysis of covariance) ,以控制或剔除其他人物背景變項對處理方式的影響。結果發現,職業才是造成處理方式差異的真正因素,比較66年76年兩個年度可發現,就記者處理方式而言,政府官員的顯著程度愈來愈高;就編輯處理的方式而言,則是民意代表和學者專家愈來愈受重視。
