This paper makes a broad discussion about various situations of land distributions during the Western Chou Dynasty. First, two types of land distributions are mainly illustrated : one is acquirement of lands ; the other is transfer of the ownership of lands. In acquirement,it is suggested that the idea of " crown land "(王土) did exist, though,it in fact existed in the name more than in the substance. In transfer of ownership, this paper assures that feudatories and the nobility held the ownership of lands ; in addition,it affirms that possible approaches of obtaining ownership of land have indeed come from the reinforcement of bureaucracy and persistent subjection relations. While feudatories and the nobility actually possessed the ownership of lands and tried to extend their lands through annexation, this was where the hegemony of feudatories during the Spring and Autumon Period and turmoil of the last years of the Western Chou originated in.
