    摘要: In this paper, I aim at a few of works of literary history that published and currently circulated in Taiwan, and investigate how they describe and evaluate modernist literature in 50’s and 60’s, to look for objective conditions of understanding of Taiwanese literature. To achieve this purpose, the paper also cited the Korean academia on the evaluation of modernist literature as a reference. Modernism is a product of the West, and has been discussed as an important literary topics after it was spread over from the West. The purpose of discussion triggered by surrounding the acceptance state of modernism is to review the relation of native and exotic nature to a regional literature. Such as Taiwan and South Korea, in the areas that is resistant, national, and the hard reality pointed to facing the capitalist modernity, modernism literature easily became the object of criticism. Therefore, the discussion on modernist literature is basically to investigate how these areas look upon their modern experience, and the process how to achieve literary modernity.
