| Abstract: | 大學圖書館受到數位與網路科技影響，力求轉型以回應使用者的需求，進而有許多建築空間改革計畫，但大多集中在讀者服務空間，技術服務人員的工作空間鮮少有相關研究，讀者的使用需求固然重要，但館員作為提供圖書館服務的重要角色，若沒有一個良好的工作環境，則容易影響到工作的進行。本研究之研究目的為：(1)探討大學圖書館技術服務空間設計與空間需求的意涵與準則；(2)調查大學圖書館技術服務空間設計與使用現況；(3)探討大學圖書館技術服務空間使用與館員滿意度；(4)探討因應數位時代大學圖書館技術服務需求的空間設計的策略。
本研究透過深度訪談及問卷調查探討大學圖書館技術服務館員對於其工作空間之需求與滿意度，透過與館員的訪談了解需求，並建構四構面22項指標，以作為問卷調查之基礎，經過回收問卷之統計分析，獲得以下幾點結論：(1)技術服務館員對於其工作空間的期望未被滿足；(2)技術服務館員最重視的項目：安全門的位置、逃生路線的指引與規劃、新館藏購入有足夠空間可擺放、光線照明、以及資訊化設備符合工作；(3)新館藏購入時有足夠空間可擺放、通風及隔音設計、規劃資訊設備彈性調整空間、以及辦公室的指引標示的重要性與滿意度落差較大；(4)目前破切需改善的部分是辦公室的動線規劃、新館藏購入有足夠空間擺放、以及安全門位置；(5)大學圖書館技術服務空間使用滿意度構面與指標具可行性；(6)讀者服務單位與技術服務單位已有融合的趨勢；(7)圖書館面積大小是影響技術服務館員滿意度的因素；(8)技術服務部門的劃分是影響技術服務館員滿意度的因素；(9)與張瑪龍的研究比較，發現技術服務館員對於其工作空間仍是不滿意，且技術服務工作空間真的發生改變；(10)技術服務的工作近幾年增加電子館藏的採購，因此圖書館的暫存空間已不如過去需要較多的空間；(11)大多圖書館將採訪、編目、以及期刊等相關技術服務工作整合為一組；(12)大學圖書館技術服單位面臨的變革以人力減少和業務量改變為最多。
針對所獲得之結論，本研究提出下列幾點建議：(1)應重視圖書館安全性的規劃，以及技術服務館員在資訊化設備的需求；(2)目前大學圖書館技術服務人員減少，工作空間可為人數改變而進行相關的調整；(3)技術服務館員工作時，工作空間的走道必須要能讓書車在彼此交會能順利通過；(4)定期針對圖書館館員工作空間進行內部調整與改善；(5)圖書館空間調整或是空間改造時，應先調查館員的需求與滿意度。
Being affected by digital and communications technology, university libraries have been largely reformed the architecture space as the transformation to respond to the users’ demands. Nevertheless, research on the working space of technical service personnel is not concentrated as often as readers’ service space. Despite the importance of readers’ use demands, librarians, who play the critical role in the provision of library services, would be easily affected the work because of unfavorable work environment. This study aims to (1) discuss the technical service space design of university libraries and the meaning and criteria for spatial demands, (2) investigate the technical service space design and the current use situations of university libraries, (3) explore the use of technical service space of university libraries and the librarians’ satisfaction, and (4) discuss the spatial design strategies for the technical service requirements of university libraries in the digital age.
The demands and satisfaction of technical service librarians with the working space in university libraries are investigated with in-depth interview and questionnaire survey. Four dimensions including 22 indicators are constructed as the bases of the questionnaire survey. The statistical analyses of the retrieved questionnaires present the following conclusions. (1) The expectation of technical service librarians to the working space is not satisfied. (2) Positions of emergency exits, direction and planning of evacuation routes, adequate space for new collection, illumination, and information equipment fitting in with the work are the mostly emphasized items of technical service librarians. (3) Big differences in importance and satisfaction appear on adequate space for new collection, ventilation and acoustic insulation design, the planning of flexible space for information equipment, and signs for offices. (4) Arrowhead planning of offices, adequate space for new collection, and positions of emergency exits require urgent improvement. (5) The use satisfaction with the technical service space in university libraries and the indicators are practicable. (6) Readers’ service units and technical service units are gradually integrated. (7) Library area is a factor in technical service librarians’ satisfaction. (8) The division of technical service department is a factor in technical service librarians’ satisfaction. (9) In comparison with Chang Ma-long’s research, technical service librarians are still dissatisfied with the working space, and the technical service working space is really changed. (10) The purchase of electronic collection has reduced the temporary space in libraries for technical services. (11) Most libraries integrate technical services of acquisitions, cataloging, and periodicals as a set. (12) Technical service units in university libraries encounter the most changes in the reduction of labor and the change of business volume.
Aiming at the conclusions, the following suggestions are proposed in this study. (1) The safety plan of a library and the technical service librarians’ demands for information equipment should be emphasized. (2) The working space could be adjusted with the decrease of technical service personnel in a university library. (3) The aisles in the working space should allow book carriers smoothly passing when technical service librarians are working. (4) Regular internal adjustment and improvement of working space for librarians is necessary. (5) Librarians’ demands and satisfaction should be investigated before the adjustment of library space or the spatial transformation. |
