    Abstract: 本文探討美國亞太「再平衡」戰略概念為何,分析在其重返亞太過程中,澳洲將如何定位自身戰略角色,又將如何回應美國再平衡戰略。亞太穩定與美國的亞太利益息息相關,美國在區域中必須扮演參與者與平衡者之角色。而且在美國亞太戰略規劃中,澳洲的戰略地位顯得相當重要。澳洲在地緣政治與安全利益上都是美國最忠實的戰略夥伴,與美國的亞太利益更是唇齒相依,澳洲要如何回應美國「再平衡」戰略,實值得深入觀察。
    This article will explore the following issues: what the concept of US AsiaPacific“rebalancing"strategy, how Australia will define its strategic role in the process of the US` eturn to Asia`, and how Australia will response to the US strategy of rebalancing. The stability of the Asia-Pacific region is closely related to the US interests of the region; America therefore must play the role of an active participant and balancer in the region. Australia`s strategic position in theAmericanAsia-Pacific strategic planning is accordingly very important.In terms of the common regional geopolitics and security interests of the U.S. and Australia, Canberra is always the most loyal strategic partner of Washington, and their security interests are interdependent in the Asia-Pacific. How to respond to the US“rebalancing"strategy has become Australia`s vital issue, and this deserves further observation.
