Abstract:	本研究在於嘗試透過國際政治視角的探討，來瞭解以美國為首的國際勢力為何持續透過許多不同的管道，動用許多方式，一再呼籲人民幣應該升值，其背後目的究竟是為了經濟因素，抑或尚有政治原因存在？本研究也試圖藉由此層面的分析，進一步瞭解以國際政治的觀點能夠如何來詮釋人民幣匯率的議題。經由對於中國匯率制度以及1985 年「廣場協議」對日本經濟的影響等探討，本文認為，以美國為首的西方國家之所以會要求人民幣匯率升值，事實上是出於遏制中國的戰略考量，而不僅是為了要處理與中國貿易往來間的大量逆差問題。另外，以國際政治的角度來看待人民幣匯率升值的經濟議題，也能提供更全面的思考空間。
