    摘要: We examine the relation between the bank loan interest rate and its economic determinants, and, using the quantile regression method, investigate whether such a relation varies across different points on the conditional distribution of the loan interest rate. The evidence reveals significant heterogeneity in the relation between the loan rate and its economic determinants. The existence of heterogeneity illustrates the inadequacy of the ordinary least squares estimates, and calls for the use of quantile regression to supplement the ordinary least squares estimates in order to gain a more detailed and complete picture of the relation between the dependent variable and explanatory variables.
