Abstract: Qing-Zhi Chen, 2012, A Study on Development of Online Proverb Lectures - Focusing on Department of Korean Language and Culture in Taiwan. Journal of Korean Language Education 23-2: 395-420. With increasing contact between Greater China and Korea, as well as frequent usage of websites, great progress in communication has been made with respect to business and culture. In this process, effective language communication becomes essential. Among a variety of linguistic expressions, the proverb has been found to be the most perspicuous, effective, and simplest. Through a brief expression, the proverb demonstrates the essence of life experiences and traditions of a particular culture or a country. Therefore, by examining and analyzing the proverb, it increases our compensation to a particular culture or a country. Proverbs demonstrate great wisdom and precious experiences of the ancestors. In light of this aspect, the primary purpose of this research is to emphasize the need for cultural education and develop an efficient method to improve the cultural education. In order to achieve this goal, we will make a Korean proverbs database and establish all-around learning programs including all kinds of pictures and videos. Therefore, these programs provide interactive multimedia and feedback teaching tools. We expect the learning programs will motive people to benefit from learning foreign language via proverb.
