    Abstract: 本研究旨在探討國民中學教師生涯發展中,其持續與漫長的連續歷程裡,教師個人在不同的生涯階段中所表現出對於其專業成長之需要與意願,並了解其實際達成專業成長的程度。主要研究目的為?了解我國以及世界各國教師不同的生涯發展階段的情形。?分析不同生涯發展階段的教師專業成長的認知情形。?分析不同生涯發展階段的教師專業成長的實際情形。?建立不同生涯發展階段的教師專業成長理論與模式。?提供我國規劃或輔導不同生涯發展階段的教師專業成長的策略,與提昇其專業素質及專業地位建議之參考。 本研究之調查對象為國民中學現職教師,使用的測量工具包括:「國民中學教師專業成長調查問卷」及「國民中學教師生涯訪談問題」。採用文獻分析、問卷調查及個別訪談法進行研究。 研究的主要發現為?生涯發展階段不同之國中教師,對於專業成長必要性與困難度的認知及表現等,均有明顯差異存在。?從教師專業成長的情形,可以區分出教師不同之生涯發展階段。?在個別訪談分析中,發現教師生涯發展階段不同者,其教學特徵不盡相同,而滿意或挫折的主要來源為學生學習表現、學習意願與態度及部分之學生行為等。而在教師生涯歷程中,並不常得到行政或視導人員之協助;通常面臨挫折時,向資深教師或同事尋求協助,可以獲得較實質性的幫助;而能有效鼓舞教師維續教學熱忱及獲得新知之有效途徑則是提供進修與研習的機會。根據上述研究結果,建議?應樹立教師專業成長之正確觀念。?建全並擴大教師在職進修教育之功能。?積極協助教師規劃其生涯發展。?透過行政與公共支持系統,增加對於教師的支持與關注,尤其有關教師的專業成長活動,如能獲得校長及行政人員的支持,較能發揮功效。
    It`s important to understand teachers` needs about professional growth in different career development stages. This study will focus on the following topics. The first one is to analyze the relations among teachers` career development and opinions about the goals and extent of professional growth. The second is to understand the relation between teachers` career development and extent of professional growth in different career development stages. The last one is to establish a systematic theory for analyzing and promoting the cognition of teachers` professional growth and for the refering of educational research and the policy making of administration in education.
