    Abstract: 對於都市水泥叢林而言,屋頂綠化的策略可說是都市綠地的延續。屋頂花園可以藉 由遮蔭以降低建築物表面溫度,並且透過蒸發、光合作用降低周圍的氣溫;另外, 植栽的輻射溫度遠低於相同反射率(albedo)的硬性表面材質。 所以,上述所有屋頂 花園的優勢,均有助於減緩都市熱島效應,進而降低都市中的能源消耗。 本研究的 最大目標將是調查各種屋頂花園植栽的冷卻降溫效果,透過四個季節的時地量測數 據,並且分析各式植栽與其周圍溫度、濕度之關係,最終得到不同類型之屋頂花園 及植栽種類對於緩和都市熱島效應的效益。 本計劃植栽冷卻效果的研究成果數據, 對於極力推動運用「屋頂花園」、「綠色屋頂」來降低都市熱島效應的科學家、工程 師與政府官員而言,將是一項非常有用的資訊。
    For the concrete jungle in cities, vegetation strategically placed on roofs can be considered as a complement of urban greens. Rooftop garden serves to reduce the surface temperature through direct shading of hard surfaces as well as cool the ambient air through reducing solar heat gain for transpiration and photosynthesis. Moreover, vegetation surface shows lower radiative temperatures than other hard surfaces with the same albedo. All these benefit of rooftop garden will contribute to lowering energy consumption for cooling and mitigating urban heat island (UHI) effect in the urban environment. The objective of this study is to investigate the cooling effect from the vegetation of rooftop garden in whole year. By the field measurement in four seasons and the analyses of the relation between vegetation and the ambient air temperature / humidity, the result may indicate that every kind of vegetation on rooftop garden has different thermal impact and different thermal benefit for UHI mitigation. The cooling effect data of rooftop garden will be the very useful information for scientists, engineers, and government officials who urge people to mitigate UHI by green roof or rooftop garden.
