This article asserts that history is merely the representation of the past, but not equal to the real past. And the perspective of oral history is not meant to be the historical last word. However, it focuses on the individual perspective to the past, and lets everybody have his own perspective on recognizing the past. In other words, the worldview of oral history is different to the traditional view of history. This article believes that it`s hard to resolve the problem of text authority and validity of oral history only through the scientific method (ex: cross-checking). This article believes that it is feasible to pursue the text validity of oral history by letting readers understand the subjectivity of oral history in its methodology.
