In recent years, there are great developments in business globalization and technologies, resulting corporates to develop international opportunities and deal with the global environments. Corresponding to the trend, there has been new start-up pattern, which internationalizes from the inception of their foundation, exporting products overseas, even utilizing R&D, financial or human resources from the global environments. This is the phenomenon which is called “International New Venture” (INV). The phenomenon shall be significantly crucial for Taiwanese start-ups, for limitations and restrictions of domestic market and resources in Taiwan, as push power, drive many entrepreneurs to engage in international trade.
The accelerated internationalization of INV is consequently significant issue for INV research discussion. There are previous debates for the implication of this mode of internationalization and studies are developed with different theoretical perspectives. To explore the internationalization as performance of International New Ventures, this research conducts case analysis with interviews to three Taiwanese INVs. This INV study generates a conceptual framework with dynamic capability perspective for accelerated internationalization. The research finds that internal and external features of INVs are related antecedents toward complex development of dynamic capabilities of INVs. There are four dynamic capabilities: sensing capability, absorptive capacity, networking capability, and integrating capabilities which boost the pace, extent, and scope of accelerated internationalization.
