    Abstract: 自從中國共產黨總書記胡錦濤於2002年上任以後，中國就開始強調自主創新，這特別是一般科技和國防科技方面更是如此。同時，創新的理論研究在中國逐漸成為顯學，有越來越多的中國研究人員從不同角度和層面分析創新的發生與持續。本題目擬研究三大問題。第一，中國的研究人員如何看待創新。第二，中國對創新的看法和西方既有研究有何異同。第三，中國自1980年代以來的國防工業改革和創新的關聯性。本研究是個人對中國國防科技工業改革系列研究的一部分，其最終目的在於瞭解中國國防科技工業改革是否走對方向。
    Since becoming the Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party in the fall 2002, Hu Jintao started to promote innovation, and this is particularly the case in the field of defense science/technology and industry. At the same time, study on innovation has became a prominent area for Chinese scholars, and many related analyses and works from different perspectives and levels have been published in China. This project has three research questions to address. They are: how Chinese scholars conceive innovation? Are there any difference and similarity between Chinese and western scholars on the conception of innovation, or Chinese scholars merely follow western concept? And how China’s defense industry reform measures since the 1980s are related to innovation, and is it a reform based on certain innovation concept or just trial and error? This project is part of this applicant’s series of study on China’s defense industry reform, and the purpose of this project is to examine if China’s defense industry reform proceeds in the right direction.
