Abstract:	本計畫「台灣人的認同與精神世界變遷之研究: 以日記、傳記與回憶錄等私人史料為中心, 1895-1960」是一個嘗試釐清台灣人民的國族認同與精神世界之圖像，及其在近現代台灣歷史脈絡中的變遷的深度研究。本計畫以私人史料為主，擬分三年進行並完成之 This research proposal titled “The History of Taiwanese Identity and Mentalities: centered on the private sources of diary, biography and reminiscence, 1895-1960, is an extension of my Ph.D. thesis titled From Honto Jin to Bensheng Ren- the Origin and Development of Taiwanese National Consciousness: based on an Examination of Two Diaries, 1920-1955. The goal of this proposal is to explore the pictures of Taiwanese identity and mental world and how they evolved in the context of modern Taiwan, through examining more diary sources written by diarists with broader background in terms of class, education, geography and generation. This research is scheduled to be completed in three years time. ”
