    Abstract: 本計畫擬以為<神通、神異與感通：僧傳系列中僧人神跡敘事研究>為目標，做為筆者繼92 年度-97 年度一系列研究漢譯大小乘佛典神通敘事研究後，由漢譯佛典進入中國僧傳領域的進階研究。本計畫首先欲探討有關漢譯佛教經典中有關僧人「神通」敘事，在中土僧傳中變形、擴大、增加了有關僧人「神異」與「感通」的敘事模式育意涵的轉變。由於當今中國最早的僧人傳記，是見之於幾本正史的〈藝術傳〉中；此外，《名僧傳抄》是中國現存第一部僧人總傳；因此筆者的研究計畫欲探源頭，由正史〈藝術傳〉中的僧傳；以及《名僧傳抄》開始，接之以梁.慧皎《高僧傳》、唐.道宣《續高僧傳》、北宋.贊寧《宋高僧傳》三本高僧總傳；至明.朱棣《神僧傳》為研究範圍。期以三年期的計畫，結合文學、歷史與宗教，以敘事學的方法研究中國僧傳系列中「神通、神異與感通」僧人的形象典範。以及釐析各本僧傳書寫僧人神蹟的敘事模式、策略及其意涵。釐析建構中國高僧的典範或形象的過程中，「神異感通」的書寫塑形所佔的地位、具有的作用：以及其有否牽動引導中國僧侶的修持與度眾的走向。以及隱含著中國佛教更多面向人間性的特質。；The proposal of “The Thaumaturgy ： Buddhist Ideals in Medieval Chinese Hagiography” is the author’s advance research after the past writings of A Research for the Miraculous Figures Produced by Buddhist Monks with Their Supernormal Power in the Chinese Four Agamas, A Research for the Miraculous Figures Produced by Buddhist Monks with Their Supernormal Power in the Chinese Translations of Monastic Codes (2004), and A Research for the Miraculous Figures Produced by Buddhist Monks with Their Supernormal Power in the Four Agamas and Five Chinese Translations of Monastic Codes 。
