;Theory construction and History Development of Wu-Gau Hypothesis in classical Aesthetics Category Ⅱ Abstract Based on the perspective of the genetic approach, the theory of Wu-gan is primarily a description and exploration to discover the psychological origins of the being of literature and the aesthetic experience. In the sense, Wu-gan certainly exerts its importance in discovering the inner pattern of literature creation. The study was hoping to serve as the complementation of the predecessors’ researches into Wu-gan. Therefore, the study would conduct literature review by compiling relevant theories along with their philosophy and discuss the development of Wu-gan after the Six Dynasties along with its different theory types in various history phases. It was expected to adopt the approaches of Synchronic as well as Diachronic studies, on the basis of exploring deep into the original literature and extending the scope of review, to analyze the inner structure, the attribution of theory and the meaning of value of Wu-gan in order to deepen the understanding of it. The study would further examine the process of dynamic development of Wu-gan so as to discover its development pattern and trace of transformation. In this sense, the study was hoping to comprehend the full history of Wu-gan for the purpose of making the research of Wu-gan complete. Moreover, the study was hoping to combine with other researches of aesthetics so as to gradually construct the unique theory system of literature specialized to the study.
